I've
been fortunate to live in the Pacific Northwest nearly all my
life. I started enjoying our spectacular mountains as an
avid hiker, but soon caught the climbing bug. I spent
nearly every weekend doing serious scrambles at first, and then
graduated to technical climbing of both rock and glaciers.
I've climbed most of the major peaks in our state, as well as
peaks throughout Western North America. I soon added a new piece of technical equipment to my arsenal - a camera system. Climbing ventures would never be the same again! Trips were no longer planned soley by the asthetics of the climb, but rather the opportunities they would offer me to capture light and mood in a wilderness setting. I currently reside in Renton, Washington and am in close proximity to Mount Rainier National Park, Olympic National Park, North Cascases National Park, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, and much, much more. I often travel throughout Western North America as well, as evident by my gallery collection. I've authored my own book on photographing Mount Rainier, and enjoyed my own line of wall calendars. My publishing credits include National Geographic, Backpacker, The Creative Company, Smith-Western Co., Impact Photographics, Tide-Mark Press, MeadWestvaco, Concord Litho, Vernon Publications, National Parks Conservation Association, Seattle Post-Intellegencer, and more. You can keep up with my current events by following my Blog. I try to keep it updated with upcoming appearances, trips, recent publishings, etc., as well as offer previews of my most recent images. Feel free to e-mail me at dongeyer@mountainscenes.com. I try to reply to all e-mails. You may also view my 2018 schedule. Hope to see you on the trail! Friend me on Facebook! |
